Specifically, the 50th anniversary Ryzen 7 2700X ship out with a slightly tweaked logo on the CPU, plus the signature of Lisa SU, AMD’s CEO, laser-etched into the lid as well. It’s packaging will also be visibly different; instead of AMD’s usual orange and grey colour scheme, the retail packaging of the 50th anniversary CPU will sport a black and gold motif. As a recap, the AMD Ryzen 7 2700X was launched back in April 2018. The CPU is based AMD’s 12nm die lithography, and features a 8-cores, 16-threads layout. Performance-wise, it has a base clock of 3.7GHz and boost clock of 4.3GHz.
It doesn’t look like the 50th anniversary Ryzen 7 2700X will receive any sort of performance tweaks. Of course, it goes without saying that its pricetag will also be slightly, if not significantly pricier than a normal Ryzen 7 2700X. There’s also supposed to be a 50th anniversary Radeon VII in the pipelines. Instead of black and gold, though, an image shared by Videocardz hints at the possibility of the card sporting a bright, cherry red cooler shroud.
