Truth to be told, BBM is not exactly in the same state as per its heyday. When the Indonesian company Emtek took over the responsibility of BBM’s consumer edition, it was added with extra features including games and channels. Despite that, BBM still not able to overcome the challenges that it faced against the newer generation of IM services such as WhatsApp, Line, Facebook Messenger, Telegram, and many more. In the end, we guess maybe it is indeed time to let it go. For users that still want to use BBM likely due to its security features, BlackBerry has announced that BBM’s enterprise counterpart, BBMe has been made available to individuals. Do note that it does come with a subscription fee, although it can be used for free for the first 1-year. (Source: BBM, BlackBerry.)
