As part of the exercise, Celcom stated that it has now increased LTE footprint to more than 9000 sites throughout Malaysia. This apparently translates to LTE population coverage of 91% and 78% population coverage for LTE-A together with core network capacity of 750Gbps.

At the same time, Celcom also stated that its network is able to deliver excellent video streaming experience. While video streaming might sound like an odd choice to use as its main benchmark, the telco’s own data apparently showed that 47% of its traffic was used for video services with 57% of them are being utilized specifically for YouTube.

To further drive the point, Celcom stated that 94% out of 965 clusters nationwide managed to achieve 4-star rating from YouTube Video Checkup for HD video streaming. Among those included in the group of 4-star clusters are 25 prime cities such as Klang Valley, Putrajaya, Penang, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu. Building on the strength of these factors, that’s the reason why Celcom has embarked on its new Guna Celcom campaign which also involved its Celcom Home Wireless broadband offering. At the end of the day though, while numbers don’t (usually) lie, we suppose that it is up to Celcom customers themselves to experience the differences.
