This clarification was not part of yesterday’s statement which was more to an admission that the FINAS Act 1981 [pdf] need to be updated according to the passage of time. Minister Saifuddin has also reiterated this stand in today’s statement and pointed out clearly that the government will indeed amend the act.
However, he didn’t provide an exact timeline for the amendment to take place aside from that the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM) will begin the process soon. This also applies to other regulations under its purview.
