The statistics provided by the new feature covers students, teachers, and support staff. To use it, just go to the School Search page on COVIDNOW, select the state of the school you’re looking for and input the name of the school.

The page for each school summarises the percentage of students and staff who have gotten their first dose and the percentage of those who have already been fully vaccinated. The stats are broken down even further by separating the vaccination rates by age cohorts. Be reminded, of course, that primary schools will only display the rates for students born in 2009 as 12 is the current age cutoff for COVID-19 vaccinations. Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says that the database currently only includes government schools but private schools are allowed to opt-in by emailing covidnow@moh.gov.my with the email subject “COVIDNOW Inclusion”.

The National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme for teenagers (PICK-Remaja) began in late September for teens aged between 12 to 17. Schools in several states started reopening this week at half capacity [pdf] and as of last Saturday, at least 88.56% of teachers nationwide have been fully inoculated. According to COVIDNOW, 71.5% of adolescents have received their first dose of the jab and Khairy says that the School Search data breakdown was done in hopes of giving confidence and comfort to parents. For those who want to look at the raw granular data of Malaysia’s school vaccination coverage, it can be accessed through the Ministry of Health’s Github. (Source: Khairy Jamaluddin / Twitter.)
