As per earlier reports, the Mavic Mini has a dimension of 140 x 82 x 57mm when folded, and 245 x 290 x 55 unfolded. Bear in mind, these dimensions reflect the drone’s size with its propellers attached. Unfortunately, due to its size, the drone is only equipped with a 2.7K resolution camera instead of a 4K resolution camera typically found on its bigger brothers, the Mavic Air and Mavic Pro. Specifically, the camera sensor allows it to shoot 2.7K videos at 30 fps, Full HD at 60 fps, and capture 12MP photos. On another note, the Mavic Mini weighs in at just 249g, which makes it a very enticing choice for both first-time and seasoned drone owners in the US. For context, any drone weighing 250g or heavier must be registered with the FAA. In Malaysia’s case, the local Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) only requires a drone to be registered if it weighs 20kg or more, but cannot be flown higher than 120m. The Mavic Mini also comes with a 2600mAh battery, giving the new drone a maximum flight time of 30 minutes. More than double the flight time of the DJI Spark that launched back in 2017.
The DJI Mavic Mini will be available in Malaysia from mid-November onwards, while its accessories will be available at the end of November. Price-wise, the standard package comprising the drone, a remote controller, one battery, an extra set of propellers, and the necessary tools and cables, will cost RM1599.
The Fly More combo, which comes with a 360 degree propeller cage, two-way charging hub, two additional batteries, three extra sets of propellers, and a carrying case, will set you back RM1999.
