Unlike the V40 and 50 series that launched earlier this year, the new Honor Magic3 series is the first from the brand to feature Qualcomm’s current flagship chipset platform. Specifically, the standard model of the phone features a Snapdragon 888 SoC, while the Pro and Pro Plus are equipped with the newly introduced Snapdragon 888 Plus. In terms of memory configurations, both the standard version of the Magic3 arrives with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, while the Pro comes with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage, and finally the Pro Plus comes default with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage capacity. All three models feature the same screen size, which is a curved 6.76-inch True Billion OLED display with 1344p resolution, HDR10+ and 120Hz refresh rate. Although they basically share the same overall size, the Pro Plus is the heavier variant among the three at 236g, while the standard and Pro models come in at 203g and 213g respectively. The trio also comes with water and dust resistance, but at varying IP levels – with the standard Honor Magic3 rated at IP54, while both the Pro and Pro Plus variants rated at IP68. The three Magic3 models feature the same power capacity as well, specifically via a 4,600mAh battery. Similarly, the phones come with 66W fast charging support via USB-C, but only the Pro and Pro Plus variants feature 50W wireless charging and also reverse wireless charging capabilities. The imaging side of things are where all three phones begin to differ greatly from each other. Housed within the large circular bump on the back of the standard Honor Magic3 is a triple camera setup which consists of a 50MP 1/1.56-inch main sensor, a 13MP ultrawide, and a 64MP mono. The Pro variant, on the other hand, comes with a quad-camera array consisting of the same three cameras as the standard model, but with an additional 64MP telephoto shooter with 3.5x optical zoom capability and optical image stabilisation (OIS). Finally, the Pro Plus features a 50MP 1/1.28-inch main sensor with a larger pixel pitch of 2.44 μm, and triple 64MP sensors for its ultrawide, telephoto, and monochrome cameras. Meanwhile, housed in the display cutout on all three phones is a 13MP front-facing camera, and exclusive to the Pro and Pro Plus variants is an additional 3D Time of Flight sensor. As previously reported, the new Honor Magic3 Series also comes with IMAX enhancements, enabling users to shoot professional-level videos via AI-powered tools. These include the new Magic-Log and Level 3D LUT (Look Up Table) video capabilities, which adds cinematic colour tones and enhanced HDR clarity to recordings. And while we’re talking about software, the trio will also feature the latest version of Google’s Android 11 OS via Honor’s own Magic UI 5 interface.
Price-wise, the standard Honor Magic3 starts from EUR 899 (~RM 4,470), while the Pro and Pro Plus variants will retail from EUR 1,099 (~RM 5,465) and EUR 1,499 (~RM 7,454) respectively. As mentioned earlier, the new series is slated to launch in global markets in the near future, although Honor has yet to announce the exact dates for certain regions.
