Confirmation of the 8-core Tiger Lake CPU’s existence was given by Boyd Phelps, who is an Intel Fellow. In his blog post, Phelps said that an 8-core processor within the lineup could have up to 24MB last-level cache (LLC). Intel’s Tiger Lake mobile CPU lineup is the first in the company’s lineup to be based on a new 10nm SuperFin die lithography. Prior to its new process node, the brand was stuck with its 14nm die lithography that was first introduced back in 2015. Needless to say, the new CPUs are definitely more powerful and faster, with up to 20% more performance for productivity task and double that for video editing. Compared to an AMD Ryzen 4000 mobile CPU series of equivalent value.
