Minister Ismail has pointed out directly that there is no need for the public to visit the nearest police station to apply for interstate travel because PDRM will no longer entertain such application anymore. The only exception to this rule is for emergency situations such as the death of a family member.
In addition to that, the minister further stated that any vehicles that tried to attempt interstate travel will not only be asked to turn back but will also be issued with compound immediately at the roadblock itself. Under the existing implementation of Conditional Movement Control Order, that means RM 1,000 compound per individual. This compound will be issued starting from today. Meanwhile, Minister Ismail has also noted that this interstate travel restriction also applies to interstate travel via air travel.
— KKMalaysia🇲🇾 (@KKMPutrajaya) May 21, 2020 So, if you been thinking of trying your luck to travel interstate for Raya celebration, just accept the fact that it is not worth the risk at all. This is not only in terms of financial but also the possibility of catching or spreading COVID-19 throughout your journey and among your loved ones. (Source: RTM live feed. Image: Markas ATM.)
