Specifically, the Leica Q2 Monochrom packs a 47.3MP full-frame monochrome sensor and an ISO range of up to 100,000. It features a faster autofocusing (AF) system that – according to Leica – can track objects in just 0.15 seconds, and is also capable of continuous shooting at 10fps.  As mentioned earlier, the Q2 Monochrom is equipped with a Leica Summilux 28mm f/1.7 ASPH fixed prime lens. Like the original variant, there are no optical or digital zooming capabilities but it does offer several crop modes as an alternative – at the loss of resolution size, depending on how close you intend to “zoom” into the photo.

Video-wise, the camera is able to record 4K footage at up to 30fps and 1080p at up to 120fps. Other than that, the Q2 Monochrom also includes three different colour filters for its lens: Blue, Sepia and Selenium.

Leica has retained most of the original Q2’s design for the Monochrom variant, including the buttons, electronic viewfinder, dials, horseshoe mount, and rear OLED LCD touch display. This applies to the connectivity options as well, where it includes support for WiFi and Bluetooth as well as a single SD card slot. Powering the camera is a removable BP-SCL4 1,860mAh battery that is charged via a proprietary charger.

The Leica Q2 Monochrom is now available in Malaysia at a recommended retail price of RM26,850. Those interested to purchase the camera may do so via the brand’s official store in Avenue K, its online store, and authorised resellers. (Source: Leica Malaysia [1])
