According to sources, news of the supposed mid-range Pixels first popped up after the release of Android Q. Specifically, XDA Developers discovered two new codenames, “sargo” and “bonito” listed alongside other Pixel codenames. Further source code diving into Android Q revealed a library used by the camera app on the OS.
9to5Google also reports that the Pixel 3a and 3a XL will feature 5.6-inch and a 6-inch display, respectively. Both devices will share a handful of features from the original Pixel 3 series. Including Active Edge squeezable sides, the Titan M security chip, eSIM support, and both devices will have 64GB of internal storage. Then there’s the hardware for both Pixel device. Previous rumours suggested both devices will be powered by either Snapdragon 670 SoC or 710 SoC, with the smaller Pixel 3a being powered by a 3000mAh battery. Additionally, both devices will support fast charging via a USB-C port.
