Starting with the Gaming X Trio, the card follows the brand’s iconic Gaming X aesthetics, along with some updates over the last generation. Features on the card include its Tri Frozr 2 cooling solution, complemented by 4th generation TORX Fans that sit on top of the card’s massive heatsink. In addition, the card is reinforced with a Graphene backplate.
Down the line is the Ventus 3X variant of the RTX 3080. In terms of design, the card is a near carbon copy of its Gaming X Trio cousin, with some differences in the fan design used; it uses a triple-fan cooling solution, but it’s not MSI’s Tri Frozr 2 technology. Also, the fans are a generation behind the one installed on the more premium cousin, but should work just as efficiently. Further, the card is fitted with a graphene backplate for added rigidity and passive cooling. Regardless of the coolers and design though, both cards run on the same 8nm Ampere GPU architecture and feature 10GB GDDR6X graphics memory. Running at 19Gbps, across a 320-bit memory bus. Ports-wise, both cards come with three DisplayPort 1.4a ports and an HDMI 2.1 port.
In terms of pricing, the MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Gaming X Trio and RTX 3080 Ventus 3X retail for RM3590 and RM3390, respectively. Do note that there is an OC version of the Ventus 3X, but at the time of writing, MSI Malaysia did not specify local pricing or availability.
