Rumours about the next generation console first popped up via a tweet made by journalist Ainsley Bowden, who said that “multiple insiders” stated that Microsoft’s next Xbox would be “more advanced” than the PS5. There is the question of just how reputable Bowden’s source are, but he has however pointed out that they do have a decent track record when it comes to leaks such as this. Beyond that tweet, Bowden’s sources don’t provide any details on the console’s hardware specification. However, given that both the current generation PS4 and Xbox consoles virtually share the same hardware provided by AMD, it wouldn’t surprise us if AMD was to supply the components necessary to the next generation Xbox console.

Multiple insiders have now confirmed it’s true Xbox “Anaconda” will be more advanced as rumored. All this means is next year is going to be AMAZING for fans of both. pic.twitter.com/ro9QeO8DtV — Ains (@Porshapwr) April 17, 2019 More to the point, that would mean that the next generation Xbox console could be packing the same hardware as the PS5. Including an AMD Ryzen CPU, a Radeon GPU based on AMD’s Nave architecture, plus the support of ray-tracing and 8K resolutions. Of course, all there is merely hearsay until Microsoft actually makes an official announcement, so until then, we advise you to take this news with a large pinch of salt.
