Launched back in February earlier this year, the brand’s mid-range graphics card is wildly popular, especially among GPU miners after NVIDIA accidentally released a driver that effectively bypassed its own Ethereum hashrate limiter earlier in the year.
The report comes from ITHome, who claims that NVIDIA has already begun increasing the supply of new Limited Hash Rate (LHR) variants of the RTX 3060. As for the why in this case, it is because NVIDIA is prioritising the demands of internet cafes within China. In essence, owners of these cafes have paid a deposit to secure shipments, but with the ramp up in production, surplus stock of the cards will surely make their way down to the general consumer.
