Phase 1 of this total lockdown will last until 14 June 2021 and will involve the closure of all social as well as economic sectors with the exception of essential services that will be determined by the National Security Council (MKN). If the implementation is able to reduce daily COVID-19 cases, Phase 2 will kick in and would last for four weeks. During this particular phase, several economic sectors that don’t involve mass gatherings will be allowed to operate....

In response to our report that was published yesterday, Maxis released a statement saying that the “revamped” Hotlink Postpaid plans are not new: Here is the said screenshot: On top of their current postpaid plans, customers can purchase the internet add-on multiple times depending on their needs. Based on my interpretation of this statement, here is what the marketing material was supposed to represent: Hotlink Postpaid 40 = Hotlink Postpaid 30 + RM 10 10GB Special Pass Hotlink Postpaid 50 = Hotlink Postpaid 30 + (RM 10 10GB Special Pass x 2) Hotlink Postpaid 60 @ RM 70 = Hotlink Postpaid 60 + RM 10 10GB Special Pass So, the calculation checked out indeed but nevertheless, there is a part of the Maxis’ statement that I feel has contradicted itself....

By signing the agreement, Maxis is now able to access Allo’s already existing fibre infrastructure in areas such as Cyberjaya, Bangsar South, and Jasin. The latter having initially started as a pilot plan for the National Fiberisation and Connectivity Plan (NFCP) last year and announced as successful at the start of the year. When asked where both Maxis and Allo intend to expand their coverage, both companies said that the expansion would be nationwide within the Peninsular with states such as Malacca, Kedah, Johor, and Penang currently being surveyed....

Publisher Deep Silver revealed that Metro Exodus will be a timed exclusive and will be available only through the Epic Games Store until 15 February 2020. This is despite the fact that you could pre-order the game from Steam prior to this announcement. The game will only make its way to Steam and other digital game stores once the exclusivity deal expires. This is another disheartening blow to die-hard users of Steam, and generally anyone who doesn’t want to have so many game launchers on their PC....

Microsoft was working on the Surface Duo during its prototype and development stages with another company called Movial. With that done, the company wants to bring those worked on the Surface Duo in as full-timers. And to that end, Microsoft has acquired Movial’s operations in Romania, Taiwan and the US. Movial still remains its own company despite the transaction. Despite what looks like a major increase in workforce, Microsoft is still hiring more people to work on the Surface Duo and its Android OS....

The creation of the consortium was spurred by the many reports of fake degrees claimed to be awarded to paying customers. In fairness, the idea is not something new; the original concept was created in 2018 by MADICT (Council of IT Decans). Members of the consortium include public universities such as IIUM, UTM, UITM, UMS, UUM, and UMT. As GamesHub reports, a new Monster Hunter mobile game is currently in the works, as a result of a collaboration between publisher Capcom and TiMi Studio Group. If you’re not familiar with the latter, this is the Tencent Games subsidiary that is also the primary developer for Pokemon Unite. For now, it’s not known what this Monster Hunter mobile game will be like. Considering Pokemon Unite, and another game TiMi has under its name being Arena of Valor, it is entirely possible that the company will try to cook up a MOBA....

Through some not-too-subtle hints, the company has confirmed that its first destinations will include Langkawi, as well as Kota Kinabalu and Kuching in East Malaysia. With only three fully operational Airbus A320-200s in its service, it makes sense that the new LCC could only travel to three locations at launch. If you’re not familiar, MySJ trace uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to exchange data with other nearby users who also have the feature turned on. The data collected includes Unique User ID (UUID), app version and platform, timestamp of the encounter between users, and a Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) measurement. Khairy said that so far, 5,971,117 users have opted into MySJ Trace. The current number of people on MySejahtera is unknown but as of December 2020, the app had a total of 24....

Said to be developed using React Native framework, the Bluetooth-based app is being built locally by a team that apparently include experts from Google Malaysia....
