In a series of tweets, the Microsoft 365 Status Twitter account posted updates as they unfolded. It says that the company thought initially that a recently made change was the cause of the service disruption. Despite the rollback, the company observed no improvement in the situation. Microsoft then rerouted traffic, which saw the situation gradually improve over time. A couple of hours later, the company confirmed that the issue has been resolved, but stopped short of explaining what exactly happened....

Evidence of the console was discovered through a short video clip posted on Twitter via the brand’s official Xbox account. In general, using the feature to raise your hand during a Microsoft Teams meeting session can create chaos when everyone wants to have a go at the same time. There’s no order, leading to the host having to either choose at random or whoever is the loudest which is not exactly a fair method to most participants. With the new update, the feature automatically puts the raised hands in chronological order in the participants’ panel which effectively creates an organised and fair queue ....

It goes without saying that having Activision Blizzard under its wing will boost Microsoft’s status in the gaming world who is already a huge name in the industry mainly through its Xbox effort. As always, enhanced security is a core feature of the update. However, Microsoft says that the refreshed Cortana experience will revolve around Microsoft 365. The blog also says that Cortana will help users retrieve answers to questions via Bing, set alarms, open apps, adjust settings, and provide you with an anecdote or joke that can be “shared with colleagues, friends or family”. Although, the latter point seems to be a feature that seems to be a generic feature that exists on other digital assistants....

Microsoft says that if your systems are not updated, the vulnerability could effortlessly exploit your system by installing new programs, view and delete data, and even create new accounts, all with full administrative rights. MyEG has released another statement in which the company thanked the Ministry of Health for removing the Facebook post that claimed the MyEG COVID-19 rapid test kit is fake. In the statement, the company also pointed out that the kit has apparently received approval from other authorities across the world. Reddit user, RETROCUTION, achieved his somewhat insane project via the use of a Raspberry Pi Zero, a board that is half the size of the Raspberry Pi Model A+. Despite its size, though, the board is relatively generous with its specifications and includes a 1GHz single-core processor, 512GB RAM, a mini HDMI port, and composite video and reset headers, among other things. Indications of Apple’s bright-eyed plans were first discovered on a patent application made with the USPTO, with several references made to a “cellular telephone”. Specifically, the patent describes an “adjustable decoration” that would react to “incoming communications”. In other words, a light that would indicate when the phone receives a message. Additionally, the patent also mentions something about decoration with three different “adjustable layers”. This could indicate that users can identify the notification type, depending on a different colour and light effects on the logo....

Polygon reports that Nintendo of America filed a suit against a Canadian called Gary Bowser. This Bowser leads Team Xecuter, a group of hack creators. The suit alleges that Bowser infringed on the company’s copyright in the creation of hacks and their sale. Bowser was arrested last year alongside another member of the group, Max Louarn. The kinds of hacks sold are exactly the type that you’d expect, namely the pirating kind....
