Kotaku reports that Quantic Dream has been working on its Star Wars game for 18 months, corroborating an earlier DualShockers report by Tom Henderson. But this new report also states that it won’t be the “conventional type of quick-time-event-driven game” that the studio is known for. Instead, it will have a more traditional action gameplay. It could also have open world and multiplayer elements.

With Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order being such a success for Electronic Arts, one could see that happening. That being said, it still remains to be seen if Quantic Dream can pull it off, as it’s a very different genre compared to what the studio is known for. The Kotaku report also states that the project aims in part to provide the studio staff “with more development expertise” outside of narrative-driven games. But it’s not exactly a smooth process, as teams have had debates over prioritising gameplay over the story’s writing. And then there’s the issue with the studio’s proprietary game engine, which is both dated and not very well suited to action and exploration type titles. (Source: Kotaku, DualShockers)
