The information was recently leaked by industry insider Ice Universe via Twitter, revealing that both Samsung and AMD are planning to announce more than one mobile GPU. The leakster added that the GPUs will be featured on the successors or variants of the Exynos 2100 and Exynos 1080 series. They are expected to be revealed in the second or third quarter of 2021, but Ice Universe noted that Samsung may change the release dates.

— Ice universe (@UniverseIce) January 24, 2021 The Korean tech company has been getting a lot of backlash when it comes to their Exynos processors, with users often comparing it to Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon series. Since late last year, it has been putting a lot of emphasis on its in-house chipset – to even go as far as organising exclusive launches for the hardware. Samsung promises that the future iterations will offer improved performances in terms of processing power and graphics acceleration. With AMD now backing the company with its RDNA GPU technology, newer Exynos SoCs may have a chance to go up against Qualcomm’s revered Adreno series. It is not known if Samsung will discontinue using ARM’s Mali GPU entirely in their future releases after debuting the new hardware. (Source: Ice Universe)
