True enough, the new camera is just 4.9 x 2.8 x 2.2 inches in dimensions and weighs at only 509g. The A7C features a corner-mounted EVF with 2.36M dot resolution with 0.59x magnification, and also a fully articulating LCD screen on its back. The relocation of the EVF away from the centre of the camera also helped in reducing the bulk of its design, thus resulting in a more compact form factor. The A7C packs a 24MP BSI CMOS sensor, an ISO range of 100 to 51,200, 5-axis in-body image stabilisation (IBIS) and Sony’s own hybrid phase-detection autofocus with 693 points. Since it is intended for vlogging use, the camera is capable of shooting 4K video at up to 30fps with full pixel readout at full-frame, and 1080p at up to 120fps as well. Photo-wise, the device is capable of shooting 10fps continuously with autofocus in 14-bit RAW and JPEG formats.

Additionally, the Sony A7C features a single card slot that supports UHS-II format, an HDMI micro port, a USB-C port for data transfer and battery charging, as well as two 3.5mm ports for headphone and microphone inputs. Lastly, the camera also includes a multi-interface hotshoe which allows users to attach accessories such as a shotgun mic and so on.

Joining the A7C is the brand’s new FE 28-60mm f/4-5.6 collapsible lens. Like the camera, Sony also dubbed the lens to be “the world’s smallest and lightest” due to its size and build. Sony Malaysia has confirmed that the new Sony A7C camera will arrive in Malaysia this November, and is priced at RM8,399 for body-only or RM9,899 when bundled with the new FE 28-60mm lens. Pre-orders for the camera starts today on 15 September, and will end on 15 October 2020. (Source: Sony Malaysia [Facebook] / Sony Asia website / PetaPixel)
