The unique feature in question here is what Spotify calls Duo Mix. It’s essentially another automatically generated playlist, but it takes into account the songs played by the two people in the Premium Duo subscription. The playlist is populated with songs that Spotify thinks both will enjoy, and even includes “Chill” and “Upbeat” options on the mobile app if you need a change of mood. Of course, if you don’t want to make use of the automatically generated playlist, you are entitled to make your own. The Shared Playlist feature allows both users to share their own playlists between them. The Premium Duo subscription plan is currently being tested in Colombia, Chile, Denmark, Ireland and Poland. As of yet, Spotify has not announced plans to roll it out to other markets. In terms of price, we’d imagine that it sits somewhere in between the individual premium subscription and the family plan.
