We can independently confirm that CIMB Credit Card transactions, for both online as well as Point of Sales terminals are now fully operational without any issues. CIMB’s Media Statement reproduced in full below.   CIMB Bank Berhad (“CIMB Bank”) and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad (“CIMB Islamic”) would like to clarify that they experienced some technical issues, which affected some systems, specifically our online credit card transactions. This has since been rectified. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused to our customers. Our core banking system and customer data remain intact. Customers are still able to perform banking transactions via our CIMB Clicks, CIMB BizChannel and Self Service Terminals. Original story below: Less than two weeks after its online banking service woes, CIMB has found itself stuck in the mud once again. This time around, it’s the bank’s card payment system that seems to be causing grief for its customers. The first signs of CIMB’s current banking issue were first made known by local carrier Malaysia Airlines (MAS) via its official Twitter account. In addition to informing customers, it also advised them to make payments via CIMB Clicks or other alternative forms of payment. https://twitter.com/MAS/status/1169048996108615680?s=19 Hours later, online retailer Shopee echoed the same woes, saying that it was also experiencing the technical difficulties with CIMB’s card payment system. Like MAS, it also advised its customers to seek out alternate means of payment to complete their purchases. At the time of writing, CIMB has yet to address the issue with its card payment system. On that note, the bank’s official Twitter account seems silent about the problem, despite two of its merchant partners already informing their own clients.
